How Mathieu Stern made Working Camera Lens with Toilet Paper Roll?

News Desk, Time for a DSLR / 24 Apr 2020: The photographers, who would otherwise move here and there in normal times, are quite bored of life because of the lockdown condition globally. Mathieu Stern, one of the leading photographers got bored to such an extent that he wanted to make something productive out of the dullness that his life faced.

So, here’s the brilliant idea that I adore and I am sure you will also adore a bit! He made lenses out of toilet paper. That’s the reason why amidst this lock down why we need more of toilet papers. Stern himself had got infected with Corona Virus, but he used the quarantine time to kill the boredom and come up with something that you can term as best out of the waste.

Mathieu is a popular YouTuber and he is also the one who comes up with amazing and different lenses. Here, he comes up with the lenses made out of the toilet paper roll. He owns Weird Lens Museum online and he has received appreciation from many like-minded fellows. Just watch this video as to how Stern made camera lenses with toilet paper roll.

Here’s how he initiated the project:

He first inserted the lens element inside the toilet paper roll. This was the full roll, and because of the way this roll looked, the design looked completely amazing and aesthetic.
Then he used the aperture ring adaptor for creation of focusing barrel. For this, he used empty toilet roll tube. The first roll will now be able to mount on this empty roll.
The lens roll as attached to the focusing barrel could be pushed backward and forward.
This creation was then mounted on Sony A7II.

So, this would be like a leading example for the luxurious photographers who would spend whole chunk of money over Holgas Gear and Lomography one. This modern lens is a perfect example of how creativity can cross all bounds. Yes, nothing is impossible!
