The Death of Canon 5D Mark V Launch Plans

Newsdesk, TimeforaDSLR, 22nd July 2020: May Canon 5D Mark V series rest in peace! Yes, the last one we saw in 5D series was Canon’s 5D Mark IV. Most of the people were expecting Mark V after this one! But it seems that the company scrapes off the idea of any successor to Mark IV.

In October 2019, there were reports that Canon has been working for 5D Mark V.  But looking into the pandemic situation, the company doesn’t want to take any risk and hence, these plans were shelved.

As per the industry experts and Canon Rumors, it seems that there has been development in the new series and soon the company might announce a new series say the 7D series.

There’s too much of push in mirrorless cameras these days and of course, a lot of competitors are also in his field. Hence, the company might have thought that there’s no point in enhancing this series further.

The base for non 5D DSLR camera seems to be shrinking and so the company might come up with something like that!

What feelings do you have when you got this news about 5D mark V launch getting scraped off? In one way, this decision of the company is a prudent one because they are already investing a decent chunk in RF line of cameras and if 5D mark V would come then the upgrade would also take some more time. Looking into the pandemic situation, the company might not want to wait for so long in the future.
